Raspberry Beer Float

Last month, on a rainy and cool Sunday, I had the luxury of having brunch with my mom at Parc Brassiere in downtown Philadelphia. We were seated at the window and I got to leisurely sip cafe au lait while dining on a mushroom tart, niçoise salad and of course, pomme frites.
With the food and ambience, it was a scene straight out of Paris (ahhhhh.)
Then this caught my eye on the dessert menu.

Beer Floats? Mai oui!
As my Mama isn't much of a mid-day drinker, we ended up splitting a lovely Pot de Crème instead but I knew I'd be making my own version of a fruity beer float soon.
And that day has come. (That was my long segue into today's theme: All Things Easter link up & giveaway.)

My contribution is an Easter Cocktail (along with an idea for an Adult Easter Basket.)
Do you still wish the Easter Bunny would leave you some treats (or maybe he does?)
In my dream world, I'd get some Prosecco in my basket along with Belgium style beers like Chimay and fruit lambics. Then I'd whip up some Raspberry Beer Floats for the grown-ups to enjoy while the kids hunt eggs.

If you aren't familiar with lambics, they are a Belgium style beer made by spontaneous fermentation where wild yeast falls naturally into vats (vs. specified yeast strains added directly to the vats.) Generally, these beers are aged 1 -3 years and are often flavored with fruit. Popular flavors include Framboise (raspberry), Kriek (cherry) Cassis (black currant), Peche (peach) and Pomme (apple.) And while they are delicious on their own, now that I've made a fruit beer float, there's no turning back.

Raspberry Beer Float
Description
An adult version of a root beer float using lambic fruit beer! Raspberry Beer Float makes for an unforgettable grown-up dessert or drink.
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup raspberry sorbet
- ⅓ cup Greek vanilla frozen yogurt
- 10 fresh or frozen raspberries
- 10 ounces Lambic raspberry beer (I used Lindemans Framboise)
Instructions
- Scoop the sorbet and frozen yogurt into a tall glass. Add raspberries. Slowly pour the beer, stopping halfway to let the bubbles recede a bit before pouring in the rest of the beer. Serve immediately with a straw and/or a long spoon.

So, have you ever had lambics (fruit beers)? What would you like the Easter Bunny to put in your Easter Basket?

OK, this is the EXACT thing I want to drink on Easter. After giving up all things booze for Lent, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this recipe. haha!
Hehe - I forgot to dedicate this post to you Cindy!! You only have a week to go - you can do it girl 🙂
This looks so pretty! I am glad you could have a lovely Parisian lunch with your Mama : ). That sounded like a perfect day!
It was a lovely day - digging your Easter photo tips!
I do not like beer BUT, I discovered Lindaman's Framboise about 10 years ago and whenever it is on a menu....my husband and I get it! We have even found it on tap twice! It is delicious and worth every penny (Santa brought a case once of the large bottles - oh my) This float is fun and I am sure delicious! Can't wait to share it with my hubs!
I NEVER liked beer until I went to Europe and had really good Belgium style beers! I've never seen Lindamens on tap - very cool 🙂 Love that Santa brought you a case - he's brought me Chimay before 🙂
That looks scrumptious!! Something to save the calories up for 🙂
I clocked it at about 270 calories - less than most desserts and def. less than a root beer float 🙂 Happy #AllThingsEaster!
I have never heard of or had a beer float - this one looks so gorgeous!
This looks like a super fancy restaurant item. Love it!
Thanks - my kind of fancy: as easy as pouring a beer and scooping ice cream - ha!
I think I would have had the Pot de Creme too, then washed in down with a raspberry beer float 🙂
I'm not a big beer drinker, especially since there aren't a lot of good gluten-free ones, but I would definitely like to try this yummy drink! Cheers!!!
Oh we so would have ordered both 🙂 Cheers to you my friend!
Oh yum, this looks delicious! My sister used to always drink the Framboise Lambic. I'll have to tell her about this recipe! Or maybe I'll make it on Easter.
Yes, surprise her on Easter (tell her the Eater Bunny left her something this year 🙂
Oh my goodness this looks amazing!!! I will and am going to make this. I've actually never had the lambic but have always wanted to try it. NOW is my excuse!
Oooh, first time tasting lambic - enjoy! And let me know what you think 🙂
Ok, these look divine!! I am loving what ideas you have for the adult easter baskets too! So tasty and perfect for spring!
Thx much and I LOVED all of your non-candy suggestions!
