5 Yummy and Healthy Back To School Snacks for Pin It Party

5 Back To School Snacks for Pin It Party | Teaspoonofspice.com

When Lindsay @ The Lean Green Bean announced her 3rd Pin It Party (if you blog, join in the fun!), I knew I wanted to round up our most popular snack posts. These are the recipes we make again and again for our kids (and ourselves!) With back-to-school time in full swing (and five kids between us) having healthy yet tasty snacks for hungry kids around at all times is a must.

Snacks aren’t a dirty word and while they shouldn’t mean junk food and empty calories, they are absolutely necessary for kids (and adults) to keep them energized from lunch time to dinner (without being crabby. Kids are still growing plus their stomachs are smaller, so a good combo of carbs + protein + yes, even a little of the healthier fats is key to a good snack. Fellow blogger EA @ The Spicy RD explains it well in her recent post of Smart Snacks: 20 Snacks Your Kids Will Love (heck, I’m making some of her recipes for me, too.)

Baked Oatmeal Squares – My #1 go-to afternoon snack for my 6  year old (great for breakfast, too, and you can freeze ’em.)

I pinned two of your recipes :) Those peanut butter sandwich snacks are so cute and SUCH a good idea! I am also incredibly excited about that dip recipe. I was worried clicking over that it was going to have a whole bunch of sugary vanilla yogurt or something but that ingredient list is seriously impressive and I think we have everything at home. Now to just convince my parents to ignore the green color... ;)

I'm so glad you found some pin worthy :) Yes, the green may be off putting to some who aren't very adventurous but oh, does it taste good! Maybe you can tell them it's more like a mint chocolate chip flavor - lol.
