Vegans and meat eaters, check out these homemade marinades and barbecue sauces for your grill this summer.
It’s grilling time, it’s grilling time! So, let’s talk about delicious AND healthier ways to flavor your beef, chicken, tofu, seafood and vegetables with ingredients in your pantry.
Much like salad dressings, making your own sauces and marinades doesn’t have to be complicated and 9 times out 10, your homemade concoction is going taste so much better than anything you could get in a bottle.
And I don’t know about you, but I tend to get in a rut with both homemade salad dressings and marinade recipes – I’ll use the same basic formula for a stretch and then my taste buds are begging for some variety.
So, I figured it was time to get a homemade grilling sauce & marinade recipe round-up going to prevent any barbecue repeats and expand my grilling horizons this summer.
13 Drool Worthy + Better For You BBQ Sauces + Marinades @tspbasil Click To TweetI turned to my foodie dietitian and healthy living blogger pals for their favorite sauces and marinades for meat, chicken, seafood, tofu and vegetables. And they did not disappoint!
The best thing about all these recipes is that they are almost all interchangeable. Don’t eat pork? Try the Serena’s Rhubarbecue Sauce on chicken or tofu. Want to eat more veggies? Grill up some zucchini, tomato and pepper kabobs and try Jessica’s Herb Sauce on them instead of just the chicken.
Whether you are a vegan or a carnivore or somewhere in between, there’s a recipe here for you!

I love this round-up! I'm so boring when it comes to sauces & marinades-typically a combo that includes lemon juice, Rosemary, oil, s&p. I can't wait to give these recipes to Mr. Spicy, my grill master, to make :-)

I'm not a big griller personally- I'll leave that to the pros- but I love making sauces. My favorite is a blueberry BBQ sauce- sweet and savory!
