Watermelon Margaritas

  • Author: by Deanna Segrave-Daly, RD
  • Yield: 1 drink 1x

Description

This summer drink is so simple to make: watermelon juice, tequila, triple sec and some lime juice are all you need (and salt for the rim if you prefer.)

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup watermelon juice (watermelon pureed and strained)
  • Juice from 1/2 lime
  • 1 ounce silver tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
  • 5 ice cubes
  • Salt, optional

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until thoroughly mixed. Pour into a margarita glass.

Notes

I found that 1 large watermelon yields about 10 1/2 cups of strained juice.

To salt the rim of your glass, rub a half of a lime around the entire rim. Pour salt onto a plate and place glass upside down onto the salt and turn until the entire rim is covered.
