Frozen Yogurt Fruit Bites

Frozen Yogurt Fruit Bites

This month’s Secret Recipe Club post is short & sweet – both in words and in ingredients!

I was assigned to Heather of It’s Yummy to My Tummy. The name of her blog came from her daughter who would say something was yummy to her tummy if she liked it (how cute is that?)

There were several recipes I wanted to try like Banana Bread DonutsSoft Pretzels  and No Knead Bread but in the end it came down to these Frozen Yogurt Fruit Bites as I’ve been wanting  to do a quick & easy yet creative snack post for the blog.

This is one of those “now why didn’t I think of that?” recipes but I’m so glad Heather did. Like Heather, I used bananas and blueberries for my fruit but I flavored them lowfat vanilla yogurt and lowfat chocolate yogurt. Of course, if you want to cut back on the sugar, use a plain yogurt (with a touch of honey for a little extra sweetness.)

The possibilities for these Frozen Yogurt Fruit Bites are endless as you can use any type of yogurt or any type of fresh fruit. More combinations I’m going to try:

  • Mango or pineapple + coconut yogurt
  • Strawberries+  honey yogurt
  • Cherries + plain Greek yogurt + a dash of almond extract.

Do you ever freeze fruit to snack on? What kinds? Any recipe ideas for frozen fruit (besides smoothies?) Would love to hear from you!

These are genius! Sometimes I just really want a sweet treat but don't want it to be too bad for me...it would be so great to have these stocked and ready in the freezer!

Thanks for featuring this fun recipe! We love it here. What's also nice is to use leftovers if you have any and throw them into a frozen smoothie too! Also like the mango and coconut yogurt combo idea... :)
