Rosemary Shrimp Skewers – Champagne pairings to ring in 2012
We’re days away from popping bottles of the bubbly so I thought it would be fun to round up some Teaspoon recipes that are ideal to serve with Champagne or your favorite sparkling wine.
I start with one my all-time favorite party foods to make and eat, Rosemary Shrimp Skewers. I’m lucky to partake of the Italian-American tradition of 7 Fish Christmas Eve dinner every year, and every year, I bring this pretty shrimp dish that I’ve adapted from an old Cooking Light issue. This recipe also is a fantastic New Year’s Eve party appetizer as it pairs nicely with Prosecco, Champagne or just about any sparkler you are pouring at midnight.
Or try Serena’s easy & elegant Bacon Onion Tart (I made as an appetizer for Chirstmas dinner to rave reviews.)
Roasted Carrot & Crab Bisque Shooters make for another lovely start to an New Year’s party & champagne sipping.
Another easy appetizer idea – wrap paper thin strips of prosciutto around slices of persimmons. Check out Serena’s Perfect Persimmon tips.
Lastly, have this Black Eyed Pea & Bacon dish be the first food you eat at the stroke of midnight for good luck & prosperity in the new year.
Here’s to good eats and good drinks to ring in 2012 – cheers!
